A Mentally Ill Woman’s Diary – Egy elemebeteg nő naplója
This university project reimagines Csáth Géza’s Egy elemebeteg nő naplója, creating an immersive experience that conveys both the narrative and the emotional weight of the story.
The original text consists of two parts: clinical research from the doctors’ perspective and the patient’s personal diary. I designed the clinical section to mimic authentic medical documentation, while the diary was crafted as a tangible, intimate journal, allowing readers to connect with the patient’s inner world.
To further convey her mental state, I edited and morphed images from the film adaptation, creating visuals that reflect the patient’s psychological experience. These images add a visceral, emotional layer, bridging literature, visual art, and immersive storytelling.
The project explores the tension between objectivity and subjectivity, creating a multi-sensory experience where readers witness both the analytical and deeply personal sides of the story.
